Religion is a very dicey subject with people because it is very close, near, and dear with people. A little too close, near, and dear.
Lately there is this whole idea about a Mosque, more specifically a Muslim Community Center being built near the infamous “9/11 ‘Terrorist’ Attacks” Of course now that politics is put into the issue things can officially start getting ugly. There have been several news reports of people who are treating those of the Muslim community wrongly and violently and threateningly. Such as the taxi driver who got his throat slit for his religion. Other Mosques being vandalized, people walking into places of worship for those of the Muslim faith insulting others. If the tables were turned and a Muslim did the same in a catholic church, the terror alert level would be in red and we’d all have to strip just to get into a school bus.
Now I’ll be fair. There are extremists in every religion. Of course we all know about Muslims who want “death to the western world” and all. And how those (according to the non-trustworthy government) responsible for 9/11 were Muslim. That may be true. But just because “terrorists” are Muslim doesn’t make all Muslims terrorists.
Or maybe I’ll make this simple for the average American nimrod to understand. The Ku Klux Klan. They are responsible for many hate crimes against *large inhale* Blacks, Hispanics, Asians, Middle Easterners, Catholics, Jews, and anyone not white or christian. They can easily be filed under the term “terrorists”. They use the christian bible to justify their actions.
I have many friends who are christians but who are not KKK members. They are just average American people. Not all Christians are KKK members. All KKK members are Christian.
There are absolutely patriotic (patriotism is such a stupid thing…) Muslim Americans who do not approve of terrorism. Just as there are absolutely patriotic christians Americans who do not approve of discrimination of race. There were Muslims that died in 9/11, as well as christians.
Don’t discriminate against any one. Because not everyone of a religion is the same.
One last thing. I am un-religious for this reason. It makes people think they are right because of their religion. I know I just took up for Muslims and all but I’m not a Muslim, or a Christian or anything like that. It makes you way too closed-minded and too un connected with others.
